Prayer begins with a sense that there is something “more,” and the desire to connect to something bigger than ourselves. When we understand prayer as natural to us as our breath, we can expand our understanding of ways to pray. This workshop will explore engaging the expressive arts as a form of prayer. We will play with arts as a sacred birthright, a natural way to be human and connect with the divine.

What you’ll learn:

· The arts and prayer as elaborations of what it means to be human

· The intermodal nature of the arts and how to stay with what is emerging

· Consider how to incorporate the arts into a personal prayer practice

· How to move into and move out of an expressive arts process in a spiritual direction session
