St. Teresa of Avila compares the contemplative life to a castle with many chambers, and describes the soul’s journey to the innermost chamber, where there is union with the Divine. The expressive arts (movement, sound, visual art, storytelling/poetry, and silence) are the language of the soul. With St Teresa’s metaphor as a guide, we will explore our own inner landscapes and the pull to the center, using the expressive arts. Wear comfortable clothes for movement and art-making. No experience in the arts necessary! Just bring a playful and curious spirit and an open heart.
