At the end of New Seeds of Contemplation, Thomas Merton describes the playfulness of God, and the invitation to join in God’s “mysterious, cosmic dance.” We may not think of playfulness when describing attributes of God, but that is perhaps due to our own lack of play and our tendency to take ourselves too seriously. This online retreat will explore the playfulness of God through Scripture, various Christian writers, and our own experience. There will be time for personal reflection/play, and you may want to have art supplies, instruments, or space to dance nearby!
